Small, tasty, sweet squashes, perfect for storage
Winter squash “Burgess Buttercup” ( Cucurbita maxima ), offered by OSC Seeds
Introduced in the early 1930s , this heirloom variety produces small fruits weighing approximately 1.7 kg , with sweet , thick, fiberless orange flesh. Their distinctive shape is recognizable thanks to the small bud at the flower tip. The skin, a tan green marked with fine gray stripes , becomes very hard as it ripens, making it an ideal squash for long-term storage . Highly reliable, Burgess Buttercup offers generous harvests and exceptional culinary quality.
