Botanical profile

Rhododendron 'Ramapo'

Rhododendron 'Ramapo', commonly known as 'Ramapo' rhododendron, is a dwarf ornamental shrub particularly valued for its very compact habit and abundant spring flowering. This variety forms a small, dense, spreading cushion, ideal for rock gardens, borders, acidophilic beds, or woodland gardens. In spring, the plant is covered in a multitude of lavender to light purple flowers grouped in small inflorescences that elegantly contrast with its evergreen bluish-green foliage, which is slightly aromatic when crushed. Its low, spreading silhouette makes it an excellent foreground plant in landscaping. This rhododendron thrives in acidic, organically rich, well-drained soils and tolerates cold climates well. Its dense foliage maintains a beautiful decorative appeal throughout the year.
