Symphoricarpos × doorenbosii 'Marleen'
Symphoricarpos × doorenbosii ‘Marleen’, commonly known as ‘Marleen’ snowberry, is a deciduous shrub with a rounded, dense habit, prized for its abundant and persistent pink fruit. In spring and early summer, it produces small, discreet, yet melliferous pink flowers, followed from late summer by numerous bright pink to magenta spherical berries clustered along the branches. These decorative fruits persist well into autumn, adding color and texture to borders, low hedges, and naturalized plantings. Its medium green foliage forms a compact mass that tolerates pruning and urban conditions well. Very hardy and adaptable, Symphoricarpos × doorenbosii ‘Marleen’ prefers well-drained soil and a sunny to semi-shaded exposure to optimize flowering and fruiting.
