Farming method
Stratify the seeds for two weeks before sowing. Sow indoors 6 weeks before the last frost, placing the seeds 1–2 mm deep. Maintain a temperature of 18–21°C (optimum 20°C). Transplant outdoors when all risk of frost has passed. Plant in light shade (level 1) with moderate watering (level 2). Space plants 38–45 cm apart, with 50–60 cm between rows.
Harvesting and preservation
Harvest the leaves in the first or second year, with the second-year leaves being more aromatic and potent. The roots can be harvested at the end of the first year while they are still tender. The edible flowers can be picked for salads or culinary decorations.
Store fresh leaves in the refrigerator for a few days or dry them for extended use.
