The 'Northern Anaheim' pepper is a variety specially adapted to northern regions , where summer nights remain cool. It produces long , semi-flat , two-lobed fruits measuring 6 to 7 inches, offering the traditional Anaheim pepper flavor with a mild to moderate heat level of 500 to 2,500 SHU . The tall, vigorous plants easily support a bountiful and consistent harvest, ensuring uniform, marketable fruit. Farming method
Sow indoors 6 to 8 weeks before planting time, 6 mm deep in warm potting soil. Maintain a temperature between 27 and 31°C for optimal germination (7 to 21 days). Harden off seedlings to 18–19°C before planting out in full sun (level 3). Water moderately (level 2). Space plants 30 to 45 cm apart and rows 60 to 75 cm apart. Tall plants may require light staking depending on fruit load.
Harvesting and preservation
Harvest as soon as the fruit reaches its final color , generally dark green to red depending on the desired ripeness. Frequent harvesting encourages continuous production . Store the fruit at 10-12°C with 95% relative humidity.
