Botanical profile

Lonicera 'Hack's Red'

Lonicera × brownii 'Hack's Red', known as Hack's Red honeysuckle, is a vigorous ornamental vine prized for its vibrant and long-lasting bloom. This variety produces long, supple stems that easily twine around trellises, pergolas, and fences, quickly creating a decorative green screen. From early summer to early autumn, the shrub is covered in an abundance of bright orange-red tubular flowers whose elongated shape particularly attracts hummingbirds and numerous pollinators. Its slightly matte bluish-green foliage offers an elegant contrast to the bright color of the flowers. After flowering, small decorative red berries may appear, attracting birds. Very hardy and easy to grow, this vine thrives in ordinary, well-drained soil and prefers sunny locations.
