Vitis 'Prairie Star', commonly known as the 'Prairie Star' grapevine, is a very hardy hybrid grape variety valued for its reliability and quality in winemaking. Its vigorous climbing habit, with twining tendrils, can be easily trained on a trellis, pergola, or espalier system in both gardens and vineyards. It produces medium clusters of pale green to golden-yellow grapes, with thin skin and juicy flesh, offering an excellent balance between sugar and acidity. Particularly prized for the production of dry and aromatic white wines, it generally ripens in late summer. Its deciduous bright green foliage forms a dense canopy during the season. Cold-hardy and relatively disease-tolerant, Vitis 'Prairie Star' attracts pollinating insects and is an excellent choice for northern climates.
